Getting Application Forms
Once you've decided which colleges are on your "apply to" list, the next step is to find out which application to submit. You will need to complete an application for each school you are applying to.
Customized Application
Many schools create their own admission applications. Contact the school to request a copy. Carefully follow the instructions on each form.
Common Application (Common App)
If your school is one of the overĀ 450 colleges and universities that accept the common application, you can get a copy from your guidance office, complete the application online, or download a copy. A time-saving benefit of this application is you complete it once, and you can send the same application to multiple schools.
- View frequently asked questions.
- Learn about the application requirements for all Common Application member colleges and universities.
Two-Part Application
If your school uses a two-part application, submit Part I (which contains basic questions such as name and address) as soon as possible. September is not too early. The school will send you Part II after reviewing Part I. Contact your choice schools to request this application.
Online Applications
Many schools offer their college applications on the Web.
